Kar-yiu Wong has Ph.D. of economics from Columbia University, U.S.A. (1983），M.A. of economics from Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong（1979），and B.Eng. from University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong（1972）。He is also the founding president of Asia-Pacific Economic Association，UW-UIBE Joint Research Center of International Economics，Research Center of International Economics of University of Washington，member of editorial boards for many top academic journals, mainly in the field of international economics, such as Review of International Economics, etc.
